FAQ: Moodle

What is Moodle?

Moodle is an online course management system that is free to use for educators to create online learning sites.  For more information about what Moodle is, check out the Official Moodle Website.

How can teacher's use Moodle?

Teachers can use Moodle in a number of different ways.  It could be used in conjunction with a regular in-the-classroom course or it could be used as a virtual learning environment.  In most cases, EHOVE teachers have used it as a means of distributing information and handouts, providing direct links to online resources, collecting homework and written journals, and administering basic tests and quizzes.

How can I create a Moodle site for my class?

First, go to EHOVE's Moodle site.  Then log in with your regular username and password (the same as you would use to log in on computers or to access your email).  On the right side of the page, you should see a course creation box where you can submit a request for a new site.  Fill in the form and submit it.  Your new course will be set up for you within a day or two and you will be notified when it is ready for you.
